The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced National Market Access Manager to join a market-leading pharmaceutical organisation at a pivotal stage of growth, with a focus on Speciality Oncology.

This strategic field-based role will focus on driving patient access and supporting the successful adoption of innovative medicines across the NHS. Working closely with Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), NHS commissioners, Medicines Optimisation teams and secondary care stakeholders, you will develop and implement local market access strategies that improve patient outcomes while aligning with NHS priorities.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of the evolving NHS landscape, market access principles and healthcare system partnership working.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional and national market access strategies to optimise product uptake across the NHS.
  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with key NHS stakeholders, including:
    • Integrated Care Systems (ICSs)
    • Medicines Optimisation Pharmacists
    • Medicines Management Teams
    • Commissioners
    • Hospital Pharmacists
    • Clinical Directors
    • NHS Trust Management
    • Secondary Care Consultants
  • Identify local healthcare priorities and align company solutions with NHS objectives.
  • Support the implementation of formulary submissions and local commissioning pathways.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access, Health Economics and Commercial teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Analyse local healthcare systems, patient pathways and commissioning structures to identify opportunities to improve access.
  • Develop business cases, service improvement initiatives and value-based proposals that demonstrate the clinical and economic benefits of therapies.
  • Deliver educational initiatives and facilitate collaborative projects that support service transformation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of NHS policy, commissioning reforms, NICE guidance and the wider healthcare environment.


About You

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded professional who is passionate about improving patient access and developing meaningful NHS partnerships.

Essential Experience

  • Experience within the UK pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven background in Market Access, Healthcare Development, Key Account Management or NHS Partnership roles.
  • Strong understanding of NHS commissioning, Integrated Care Systems and secondary care pathways.
  • Experience engaging senior NHS stakeholders across regional and local healthcare systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK healthcare environment, NICE and medicines optimisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and manage complex stakeholder networks.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent strategic planning skills.

Desirable

  • Experience launching Oncology medicines.
  • Knowledge of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR).
  • Experience supporting formulary inclusion and commissioning decisions.
  • ABPI qualification.
  • Science or Life Sciences degree.
