Vice President/Executive Director, Clinical Development – Oncology

An innovative, clinical-stage biotech is seeking a senior Clinical Development leader to help drive a late-stage oncology program through its next phase of growth. This is a highly visible, hands-on role reporting into executive leadership, with significant influence across strategy, study design, execution and regulatory interactions.
 

The company is advancing a promising solid tumour program with strong financial runway and a collaborative, low-ego culture where individuals are expected to be both strategic and operational.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead clinical development activities for a global oncology program
• Provide scientific and medical oversight across clinical trials from protocol design through data interpretation and regulatory submissions
• Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Translational Sciences and external CROs/vendors
• Contribute to interactions with global regulatory agencies and key external stakeholders
• Support publication strategy, scientific presentations and broader development planning

Ideal background:

• MD or MD/PhD with significant biotech/pharma oncology development experience
• Strong track record leading oncology clinical programs, ideally with later-phase exposure
• ADC and/or deep immuno-oncology experience highly desirable
• Comfortable operating in a lean biotech environment with a “roll up your sleeves” mindset
• Experience working globally and engaging with regulatory authorities including FDA

This role suits an experienced VP-level leader, though exceptional Executive Director candidates will also be considered. Candidates should be comfortable travelling to Boston regularly (approximately monthly) if not local.
