Senior Medical Director (Oncology/Hematology)
Global Specialist CRO - Remote - US
An excellent opportunity for an experienced physician leader to join a growing, highly collaborative CRO in a hands-on Senior Medical Director role supporting global clinical trials.
This opportunity offers a very different environment from larger CROs - with a smaller, agile team structure, close sponsor partnerships, and the ability to remain deeply involved scientifically and operationally. Rather than juggling numerous sponsors simultaneously, you’ll typically work closely with one program at a time, acting as a true strategic medical partner.
As Senior Medical Director, you will serve as the primary Medical Monitor across assigned studies, providing medical oversight, safety review, protocol guidance, and scientific leadership throughout the clinical development process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as primary Medical Monitor for global clinical trials
- Provide medical guidance to investigative sites and sponsors
- Review safety data including SAEs, AEs, laboratory data, and eligibility assessments
- Support protocol development, study design, and medical monitoring plans
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, PV, DM, and Biostatistics teams
- Contribute to CSRs, safety reviews, investigator meetings, and sponsor discussions
What You Bring:
- MD, board certified in Oncology or Hematology
- 10+ years’ experience within clinical development and medical monitoring
- Prior experience serving as a Medical Monitor within a CRO environment
- Strong understanding of ICH-GCP, safety assessment, and clinical trial methodology
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with sponsors and cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting global or multi-regional studies advantageous
