Senior Bioinformatics Engineer - UK/Hybrid
Job Overview: Who are they?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a trailblazing Biotech company with an international reputation for excellence in immuno-oncology research and to become a key contributor to their Bioinformatics Software team, which drives the development of their innovative therapy which is destined to change the course of cancer patient management.
Key role activities:
- Planning, designing, and implementing new functionality in our clinical pipeline and associated products
- Maintenance and optimisation of current bioinformatics software
- Providing software engineering SME support and feedback for projects within the Bioinformatics Team
- Mentoring more junior team members
- Participating in code reviews, project meetings and other related activities
- Presenting new technologies or concepts to the team with the aim of improving processes and capabilities
Desired Qualifications:
- BSc or MSc qualification in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Experience writing production-grade code as part of a development team
- Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals and software engineering best practices
- Ability and willingness to rapidly learn new languages/frameworks as required
- Previous experience with bioinformatics advantageous but not required
