Senior Bioinformatics Engineer - UK/Hybrid

This is an exciting opportunity to join a trailblazing Biotech company with an international reputation for excellence in immuno-oncology research and to become a key contributor to their Bioinformatics Software team, which drives the development of their innovative therapy which is destined to change the course of cancer patient management.

 

Key role activities:

 

  • Planning, designing, and implementing new functionality in our clinical pipeline and associated products
  • Maintenance and optimisation of current bioinformatics software
  • Providing software engineering SME support and feedback for projects within the Bioinformatics Team
  • Mentoring more junior team members
  • Participating in code reviews, project meetings and other related activities
  • Presenting new technologies or concepts to the team with the aim of improving processes and capabilities

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • BSc or MSc qualification in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience writing production-grade code as part of a development team
  • Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals and software engineering best practices
  • Ability and willingness to rapidly learn new languages/frameworks as required
  • Previous experience with bioinformatics advantageous but not required
