Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - North Yorkshire

The Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in mechanical maintenance, ensuring seamless operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and enhancing the reliability of all equipment. This position is responsible for executing essential preventive and reactive multi-skilled maintenance tasks within a dynamic, GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.


Your shifts will rotate on a weekly basis from 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm.

Role Responsibility
  • Implement and oversee a planned maintenance program to enhance equipment reliability and optimize asset performance.
  • Collaborate with production and QA teams to execute work orders efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of asset history following functional failures.
  • Minimize unscheduled downtime by responding swiftly and effectively to breakdowns while monitoring post-repair performance to ensure full operational efficiency.
  • Lead engineering root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives to prevent recurring issues and enhance system reliability.
  • Conduct calibration services to maintain equipment accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to cGMP standards and maintain Health & Safety protocols across the site.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment safety, efficiency, and changeover processes while reducing downtime.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Familiar with working on some of the following production equipment - filling lines, conveyors, packaging lines, autoclaves tablet pressers, granulator, WFI and heat sterilizers etc.
  • Experience of working within a regulated process environment (Manufacturing/Production).
  • Time served in an industry or a level 3 NVQ in an engineering related subject.
  • Proactive approach to work.
